Carrie Martin Carrie never took a childbirth class prior to her training as a doula. She was not knowledgeable about interventions during birth and the effects they can have on you and your baby when she was pregnant. She had given birth three times without pain medication, two of which were augmented by pitocin. When a childhood friend, who was studying to become a doula, mentioned using a doula for her fourth birth, she didn't think it would be necessary. She was surprised to experience how helpful her doula was, and how the use of different positions could help labor progress. After her experience she knew she wanted to train to become a doula as well and help other women to know all of their options and be able to make the most informed decisions that are best for them.    CarrieMartin.Doula@gmail.com   501.680.6118 www.arkansaslaboroflove.com
